The Yellow Door is excited to bring you a unique learning experience this fall! We are offering a 5 week Art History course focusing on the Italian Renaissance taught by Paige Conn. Paige has been an art educator for over 25 years, working in school and museum settings. She has traveled extensively throughout Italy and is an accomplished travel blogger. Attending a class will be a great way to learn and have a bit of a travel experience from someone who has first hand knowledge of the subject matter! Sign up for all classes or pick and choose ones that pique your interest! No passport required!

* We will be meeting in person and are taking all precautions to assure the safety of everyone involved. Mask wearing is required by the state of Texas. But thank goodness we won't have to look at each other through the dreaded zoom lens.

ADULT WORKSHOPS
-SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS-

We will be bringing in a professional guest artist each month that will use their experience, expertise and training to teach on a specific medium or aspect of art. It will be something entirely new each month! Come for one month of class, come for all 12 or pick and choose what you want to learn more about. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings and will be 4 weeks long each session. All classes are open to beginners or intermediate level artists. No experience required to participate. If you have been wanting to learn the fundamentals of art or build on what you already know then this will be the perfect thing for you. Class numbers will be limited to ensure each student gets quality time and instruction from the teacher.  Please see schedule below and we look forward to creating with you soon!

About Jen Brown:
Jen Brown grew up as a Midwest girl in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  After spending many years in Arizona, California, and even West Africa, she and her family have now settled in Fredericksburg, Texas and are happy to call it their home.
Although she has worked and studied in several different mediums, nothing challenges and satisfies her quite like watercolor painting. “The water is unpredictable and sometimes difficult to control, but it always seems to create something so lovely and original. The challenge of letting the water move freely but yet still controlling the details of the subject is what really excites me.”
Jen began watercolor painting during her quiet time as a creative outlet, but as her collection grew, so did the requests for commissioned pieces. Recently she has had several requests for pet portraits. Her clients say that she has the extraordinary ability to portray each animal’s unique personality in paint, thus providing people with a one-of-a-kind memory of their loved ones that will last beyond their years.
Jen’s inspiration comes from her love of God and His creation. “I find great pleasure in capturing God’s creation in watercolor… animals, flowers, and especially birds. When you study and try to duplicate the details of His handiwork, you cannot help but be filled with awe and wonder.”
Jen’s work is currently being displayed at Artisans Gallery in Fredericksburg, TX.
